Congratulations to the students and schools who excelled in the 2022 Competition, winning prizes in recognition of their achievements.
The Australian team achieved fifth place at the 2023 International Geography Olympiad.
Students from 45 countries took part in the 2023 International Geography Olympiad from 8-14 August, held in person for the first time since 2019.

The 2024 Australian Geography Competition will be held in schools from Wednesday 15 May to Wednesday 29 May. Entries will open in early 2024.
The 2023 Australian Geography Competition will be held in schools from Wednesday 10 May to Wednesday 24 May.
Students from a record 54 countries took part in the 2022 International Geography Olympiad. Unfortunately it had to be held virtually, so instead of going to Paris, the Australian team gathered on the Gold Coast from 11 to 18 July.

The 2022 Australian Geography Competition will be held in schools from Thursday 24 March to Wednesday 6 April. The entry deadline is Monday 28 February.
The 2023 Competition will be delivered online via the Janison platform. We’re excited to be bringing you our highly-regarded Competition in this different format.
